Leeds OPP investigating suspicious death of ‘young adult’ in eastern Ontario

Provincial police say they are investigating the death of a young adult male in a village south of the capital.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say at around 8:15 a.m. they were dispatched to an address on Main Street in the village of Athens, Ont. on Saturday.

“A heavy police presence will remain for several hours to allow for a complete and thorough investigation,” wrote the OPP in a media release. “Please avoid the area.”

Police say there is no danger to the public.

Police are asking anyone that has any information or may have seen suspicious activity in the area, to contact the Leeds County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
