Ottawa police investigate ‘suspicious death’ after teen dies

Police say they’re investigating a suspicious death that happened at McNabb Park on Friday evening.

Ottawa Police Service (OPS) says they were called to the area at 7:55 p.m. for a possible fight.

Police and emergency responders found an injured 16-year-old boy and transported him to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing, however, no suspects are wanted and no arrests have been made.

They also say there is no threat to public safety.

“The name of the victim will not be released at this time, as the notification of next of kin process has not been completed,” says police.
