A hospital in the Ottawa Valley will start charging for parking in order to pay for a new CT Scanner.
Almonte General Hospital in Lanark County said in a press release that the fee will be $4 and start this fall.
The hospital is receiving a new CT scanner that will be operational this summer, the press release reads.
The fee for parking is to help pay for the new diagnostic tool.
“Many people are surprised to learn that the provincial government does not fund the ongoing operation of equipment,” Mary Wilson Trider, Integrated President and CEO of the Mississippi River Health Alliance, said. “We have brought a new service to our community that we didn’t have before, and these revenues will support its continued operation.”
Monthly passes will also be available for those who make frequent trips to the hospital.
