No injuries to staff or students after weapons incident at South Glengarry school

A man from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) faces multiple charges after a weapons incident at a school in South Glengarry Township.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. on May 6, officers with the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to Holy Trinity Catholic School.
This followed reports of a man carrying an edged weapon, threatening multiple people.
A Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) was used to gain control of the man, who was arrested and charged.
There were no injuries to school staff or students.
The 35-year-old Scarborough man faces the following charges:
- Assault (two counts)
- Assault with A Weapon
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
- Possession of imitation weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Causing a Disturbance
- Common Nuisance – cause physical harm
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Cornwall at a later date.
