Carleton Place man charged with sexual assault, assault causing bodily harm

A man from Carleton Place is facing serious charges after an investigation into a series of sexual assaults.
The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating after an individual reported being assaulted and sexually assaulted between late 2022 and early 2023.
An individual has been arrested at the Brockville Jail, where he was being held on separate matters.
Marcel Lapensee, 56, faces the following charges:
- Sexual assault (two counts)
- Assault
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Voyeurism
The investigation is ongoing.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Perth on May 31, 2024.
