Two charged after search warrant of Kanata Lakes home, storage unit

The Ottawa Police Service’s (OPS) Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a Kanata Lakes home and storage units.

The warrant led to multiple drugs and guns seized and several charges laid on two individuals.

In January, the force was investigating two people of suspected trafficking of illicit drugs into the nation’s capital.

On May 10, OPS, with the help of the West Neighbourhood Resource Team, Tactical Team, Canine Unit and Street Crime Unit, a search warrant was executed.

Police seized:

  • A located semi-automatic handgun
  • Loaded magazine
  • Additional ammunition
  • A large sum of cash
  • Cocaine
  • Crystal methamphetamine
  • Fentanyl
  • Methamphetamine
  • Cannabis
  • Hashish
  • Dilaudid pills
  • Oxycodone pills

Eiad Elfarou, 45, and another man, both of Ottawa were jointly charged with several counts of Controlled Drug and Substance Act offences, several firearms charges, possession of prohibited weapon and possession of proceeds of crime.
