Collision in downtown Perth leaves 81-year-old pedestrian seriously injured  

An elderly woman has been seriously injured in a collision in downtown Perth.

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on Foster Street, near Wilson Street, around 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.

According to the OPP, an 81-year-old woman was walking through the parking area adjacent to the street as a car was backing up.

The woman was struck and ended up underneath the vehicle.

The woman was taken to an Ottawa trauma centre by Lanark County Paramedics for treatment.

Her injuries are considered serious, but non-life-threatening.

The OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the investigation.
