Ottawa in for a sunny, warm weekend

With the start of meteorological summer, Ottawa residents can expect a warm start to the weekend, according to forecasts from Environment Canada.

By Friday afternoon the nation’s capital will be a high of 24 C and sunny. Overnight the temperature will drop to a low of 10 C.

On June 1, skies will be clear and sunny with a high of 26 C, reaching 29 with the humidex.

Saturday night temperatures will drop again to a low of 11 C.

The final weekend day will be cloudy, but still warm with a high of 22 C. Overnight temperatures will increase to 14 C on Sunday and continue to rise as the week progresses.

The heat is above normals, according to Environment Canada data, with the temperature supposed to be around 22 C at this time of year.
