Ottawa driver charged after driving impaired into OPP parking lot

Police said they charged an Ottawa resident with impaired driving after he drove his vehicle into a police parking lot early Sunday morning.

Officers said at around 3:00 a.m. a vehicle turned into the Ottawa detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) parking lot. An officer who was driving behind the vehicle, stopped the driver to see if they could offer assistance and found that the driver was impaired by alcohol and registered more then twice the legal limit. 

Paul Brohman, 47, was charged with operation while impaired with alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol level of over 80.

Police impounded his vehicle for seven days and he received a 90-day driving suspension.

Brohman is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Sunday.
