Ottawa Police investigating shooting death of 19 year old

The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old man that happened in the city’s east end on Friday.

Police say the shooting happened at around 10:00 p.m. in the 1700 block of Russell Road.

The victim has been identified as Yousef Salaman of Ottawa.

No suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are asking the public for any surveillance video from residents and persons who may have been in the area at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
