Remnants of Hurricane Beryl are forecasted to bring large amount of rain this week to Ontario.
Following Hurricane Beryl’s landfall in North America, its path is forecasted to hit Ottawa and the surrounding area.
Environment Canada is forecasting its arrival late Tuesday and lingering into Thursday. The storm has weakened and is now classified as a tropical storm.
Heavy rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm per hour could occur at times. Some localized areas might see upwards of 50 mm.
According to Environment Canada’s special weather statement, forecasted track confidence is low but says “these types of systems in the past have given very high rainfall rates in torrential downpours.”
