Seven people involved in multi-vehicle collision on Hwy. 401 near Odessa

A small portion of Highway 401 was closed after a multi-vehicle crash west of Odessa that sent multiple people to hospital.

The collision happened July 21 just before 9:30 p.m. When officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded they found two vehicles and a motorcycle with multiple people injured.

The crash happened on Highway 401 westbound. One of the vehicles had five people inside, three of which were transported to hospital, one with serious life-threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist was also transported with serious life-threatening injuries.

The other vehicle contained one person who was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours at County Road 4 for the technical collision investigators.
