Two dead after motorcycle collision on Highway 416

Two people are dead after a collision involving two motorcycles in Ottawa.

The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on Highway 416 South, at the Highway 417 split, shortly before midnight on Friday, Aug 2.

Both motorcycles had been seen travelling at high rates of speed prior to the collision.

One rider was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was transported to the Ottawa Civic Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing.
