Man charged for hate-related mischief to Bells Corners religious building

Ottawa police charged a person following mischief incidents to a property in Bells Corners that occurred earlier this month.
A religious building in the 3800 block of Old Richmond Road was damaged at about 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 8 and on Aug. 17 at around 10:45 p.m. Police say “several thousands of dollars” in damage occurred.
A 25-year-old man from Ottawa has been charged with:
- Mischief to property
- Loiter or Prowl at night on another person’s property
- Possession of break in instruments
He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
