77-year-old Ottawa woman dead after head-on collision north of Perth

A head-on collision in Lanark County has left a woman from Ottawa dead.

The crash, involving a pick-up truck and an SUV, happened around 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 on Highway 7 at Gardiner Road, between Perth and Innisville.

Despite life-saving efforts by the Lanark County Paramedic Service, the 77-year-old driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, a 49-year-old man from Mississippi Mills Township, had no serious injuries.

Each was the lone occupant in their vehicle.

The highway was closed in the area until late Tuesday night to allow for the police investigation.
