Woman identified after being stabbed to death at park near Uplands Drive

Police say a suspect is behind bars after a victim was fatally stabbed at a park near Hunt Club Road.
The incident happened at 10:26 a.m. on Thursday. Police say Brkti Berche, 36, of Ottawa was stabbed and succumbed to her injuries. She was identified a few hours after officials first reported the incident on Thursday.
A suspect was seen fleeing the area of Uplands Drive and Paul Anka Drive in a vehicle. The 36-year-old man was arrested on Highway 417 outside of Ottawa near exit 66 in Casselman, southeast of the nation’s capital.
Criminal charges are pending against him.
