K9 unit, drones searched forest near Pakenham after calls for help
A large police presence was seen near a small town in the Ottawa Valley on Friday morning.
Officers were by Campbell Side Road between McManus Sideroad and North Pakenham 5th Concession, near White Lake.
Provincial police’s canine unit, remote piloted aerial systems (drone) searched the area after two residents heard calls for help from the forest around 7:30 a.m.

Just before noon, police said in a post on X, “Officers have not been able to locate anyone in distress, and there have been no reports or any missing/overdue people in the area.”
Hunters and others are being asked to avoid the area for the time being.
