The holiday train is rolling south of Ottawa: Here’s when, where to see it

A festive train decked out with lights and carrying performers will be south of Ottawa on Thursday.

The CPKC Holiday Train is a decorated locomotive that makes stop in communities across Canada and the U.S., with a goal to raise funds for food banks. Although the train is not heading right through the nation’s capital, people can still catch it just outside the city.

The train is coming from the east and on Nov. 28 its first stop near Ottawa is in the community of Finch, just south of Casselman. It’ll be in the area between 2:45 and 3:15 p.m. near James Street between William and George Street.

Merrickville is the next stop from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. The train will be visible at 103 East Broadway and Country Road 2.

The train will hit Smiths Falls from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. at 63 Victoria Ave.

Finally, it will be in Perth from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wilson Street railroad crossing.
