Police investigating serious incident downtown; 1 arrested for assault
A significant police presence was seen downtown on Wednesday morning after officers were called to deal with an assault.
Officials said people can expect police to be on Nepean Street between Bank and Kent streets for several hours. One person is being treated in hospital and another has been arrested for aggravated assault.
Paramedics told CityNews that they were called to the area around 4:30 a.m. where an adult male sustained serious injuries from a “blunt object.” He was taken to hospital in critical condition but his injuries are not life-threatening, a spokesperson said.

Police say there are no outstanding suspects and no threat to public safety at this time.
