Saturday morning around 7:08 a.m. a vehicle was found by firefighters fully engulfed in flames.
Crews responded to the 2000 block of Gibford Drive near the Ottawa airport. At the scene, they saw a car with flames coming out of it next to a Desjardins Bank location. Officials said that the nearby building was at risk of catching fire.
Firefighters grabbed a hose and brought it toward the vehicle and the fire was under control by 7:30 a.m. The building sustained minor damages and there was no reported injuries.
An Ottawa fire investigator was dispatched to the scene and determined the incident to be “suspicious.” Following that, the Ottawa police arson unit opened up the case and determined the fire to have been accidental.
