Ottawa police seeking suspect in bank robbery on Hazeldean Road

The Ottawa police robbery unit is asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a commercial robbery in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road on Jan. 14.

The male suspect entered the financial institution and approached the counter, indicating he was armed and demanded money from staff, wrote the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) in a news release.

Officials said, the suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. Witnesses last saw the lone man running east up a pathway from the bank.

Police describe the suspect as a white male of unknown age, approximately 6’ 3” and 170 pounds, with brown eyes.

During the incident, the suspect’s face was fully masked — wearing a red jacket with a hood up, black pants, black shoes with white soles, and a red Metro grocery bag, wrote OPS.
