IDs released of two teens fatally shot in South Glengarry home invasion

Police identified two teenagers who were shot and killed in a South Glengarry home invasion in early February.

The incident happened on Feb. 2 at around 9:00 p.m. when officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) detachment were called for a home invasion. They responded to a residence on Old Highway 2, southeast of the nation’s capital, where two people had gunshot wounds.

The pair have now been identified as Eddie Alobhouet, 19, and Tristan Simard, 18, both were residents of St. Jerome, Que.

A news release says that when officers arrived, the two men were found dead, and a third person had run away before police arrived. The trio were trying to force their way into the residence.

Officials are still looking to identify and find the third person, who provincial police say was wearing a mask at the time.

Initially, police took the residents of the home, who were uninjured in the incident, into custody but they were later released.

Officers seized several items including firearms from the home. Police told CityNews they aren’t releasing details of the other items taken.

There is no threat to public safety as officials believe this was a targeted incident.

Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation or help locate the third person, is urged to contact the SD&G OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
