Ottawa’s weekend weather: Here’s what to expect

Environment Canada is forecasting a warm and sunny start to the weekend, ending with rain showers on Saturday evening through Sunday.

Ottawa’s current weather is 0.4 C and partly cloudy, based on weather data collected from Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport at 10 a.m. this morning. Sunny skies are expected throughout the day Friday, changing to a mix of sun and cloud daytime Saturday.

According to the weather agency, rain showers will begin on Saturday evening and continue until late Sunday evening.

They are warning that significant rainfall and strong wind gusts are possible on March 16, through 12 a.m. on March 17.

Forecasting predicts Ottawa should see break from rain on Monday and Tuesday — but showers will resume Wednesday and should last through the daytime on Thursday.

While it’s still early, Environment Canada will provide an update on Thursday evening conditions.
