30 charges laid following child abuse investigation in Arnprior

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) laid charges following a domestic child abuse investigation.
The Renfrew Detachment of the OPP worked alongside the Renfrew County Family and Children’s Services after learning of allegations of abuse. A joint investigation was conducted in Arnprior, Ont. and came to its conclusion last week.
As a result, a 40-year-old was charged with a slew of domestic assault charges that include:
- Assault (child) x23
- Assault (spouse)
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Uttering threats to cause deal or bodily harm x2
- Killing or injuring animals x3
OPP confirm to CityNews the victims of the child and spouse assault charges are in the same family.
The accused from Arnprior was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at the end of April.
The name of the suspect has not been released in an effort to keep the identity of the victims private.
