A victim of an assault and an almost carjacking attempt put up a fight with a suspect who is wanted by Ottawa police.
Officers are looking for a man they say tried to steal a vehicle from the victim on March 13. The incident happened just after 2:25 p.m. when the victim was coming back to his vehicle in the 1900 block of Baseline Road.
He was approached by another man who demanded for his car keys.
“The suspect then assaulted the victim, striking him multiple times in the face,” a press release reads.
Officials say the suspect in the altercation pulled out a dark-coloured handgun and threatened to shoot the victim before he left the area. The suspect was last seen getting into the passenger seat of a black Nissan Rogue with no licence plates.
Police say they are looking for a Middle Eastern man who at the time of the incident was wearing a black balaclava, black hoodie and a red pants.
Anyone with information about the identity of these individuals or this incident is asked to contact the Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5116.
