Suspended G2 driver charged with stunt driving

Ottawa OPP have charged a G2 driver with multiple offences after a vehicle was pulled over on Hwy 417.

Officers clocked the vehicle travelling at 194 km/h and observed it racing another vehicle.

The driver of the stopped vehicle has a G2 licence and was already a suspended driver.

Police criminally charged the driver for dangerous operation of a vehicle and two counts of stunt driving – one for excessive speed and one for racing. The driver was also charged for driving under suspension and improper use of the HOV lane.

The driver now faces several thousand dollars in fines and a criminal record if convicted.
