Reward offered to help find missing 75-year-old man

Ontario Provincial Police are offering a reward for tips that could lead to finding a man who has been missing for over seven years.

Robert Lambert was 75 when he went missing from his home in Montague Township near Smiths Falls.

He moved to Canada in 2004 to marry his fiancée, Cathy. Police say the pair lived a happy life in Smiths Falls before Cathy passed away in 2016. Lambert had no biological family nearby and was left alone.

Leading up to his disappearance, he needed help to travel and was taking medication on a regular basis.

The last time he was seen was July 2018, but he wasn’t reported missing until November 30 of that year. Officials say they got information early on that Lambert travelled to the United States, but police weren’t able to find any record of him crossing the border.

For the last seven years officers have been trying to piece together what happened to him. They said in a press release that they cannot rule out foul play in the case.

Lambert is described as 6’3″ with a medium build with white hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation or whereabouts should contact the Lanark County OPP Crime Unit at 1-888-310-1122.

Officials are offering a $50,000 reward to anyone with information that helps solve the case.
