Single-vehicle crash knocks over Hunt Club traffic light

A man in his 20s is facing a charge after a vehicle rammed into a set of traffic lights in Ottawa.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Police responded to the intersection of Bank Street and Hunt Club Road to find a car plowed its way through the area, ramming into a set of lights. One of the poles was on the ground.

Officers told CityNews in an email that the collision resulted in property damage. The driver in his 20s was not injured.

Police laid a charge to a man for careless driving.

A left-hand turning lane onto Hunt Club is being blocked by police while crews repair the light. Some delays are in the area due to the emergency construction.
