Crossing guard struck in Barrhaven hit-and-run in critical condition

Police detailed that they are looking for a vehicle after a man in his 50s was struck by an elementary school in Barrhaven.
Officials said in a press release they are “urgently” asking for the public’s help finding a dark-coloured Ford F-150 believed to be involved in the serious hit-and-run. Police do not have a photo of the suspect vehicle.
A man in his 50s was hit while on duty as a crossing guard near an elementary school, around 8:20 a.m. on Monday. There are several schools in the area, including Mary Honeywell E.S., St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School and Cedarview Middle School.
The incident happened on Cedarview Road near Kennevale Drive. Roadways in the area were closed for several hours, police said.
Paramedics told CityNews in an email that the man sustained critical injuries, and officials tried to stabilize him on scene and during transport.
He is in hospital in life-threatening condition.
