Fight between 5 people escalates to stabbing, arrest

A fight in Ottawa’s Little Italy neighbourhood resulted in stab wounds to two people and another hit with a vehicle, according to police.
The altercation broke out early Wednesday around 1:40 a.m. Officers responded to a fight in the 200 block of City Centre Avenue involving five adults.
Police said it began as a verbal exchange and escalated into a physical confrontation, which led to two people being stabbed. After the incident, one man was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
Three of the people police believe were connected to the incident were inside the vehicle when it struck the man. Police said they found the vehicle a short time later, and the man driving was arrested.
The people injured in the altercation do not have life-threatening injuries, officials detail.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
