Fatal collision on Highway 17 leaves one dead

A collision on Highway 17 early Saturday morning left the driver of an SUV dead.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, right before 3:30 a.m., emergency services arrived on the scene of a two-vehicle collision between a transport truck and SUV on Highway 17, near Calabogie Road.

The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating.

The 49-year-old driver of the SUV from the Golden Lake area was pronounced dead at the scene. The transport truck driver has no reported injuries following an assessment by EMS.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage to contact the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
