OTTAWA — A synagogue that was the target of anti Semitic graffiti earlier this week is holding a multi faith gathering of solidarity, Saturday morning.
Mayor Jim Watson and Police Chief Charles Bordeleau, along with Premier Kathleen Wynne and Attorney General Yasir Naqvi will all be at the event that begins at 11 a.m.
The Machzikei Hadas synagogue at 2310 Virginia Drive in Alta Vista was one of five religious sites vandalized with graffiti over the past week.
Swastikas and anti-Semitic words were spray painted on the building early Thursday morning.
Another synagogue, a Jewish woman’s home in the Glebe, a United Church with a black minister and a mosque were also targeted.
