Kanata rollover sends two to hospital in serious condition

KANATA, Ont. – A single-vehicle rollover in Kanata sent two people to hospital in serious condition Sunday night.
Emergency crews including Ottawa Fire, Ottawa Paramedics and Ottawa Police were called to Castlefrank and Kakulu Roads just before 5:15 p.m. where they found a 4-door Honda Accord resting on its roof.
The car had left the road, hopped a chain link fence and hit a tree. The two occupants were trapped inside, and fire crews had to use the Jaws of Life to free them.
The driver, a 62-year-old man was showing signs of a stroke. He suffered both shoulder and neck injuries in the crash. His passenger, a 62-year-old woman was treated for neck pain as well as a severe spinal injury.
They were both taken to the Ottawa Trauma Centre
