Teen facing second degree murder in Overbrook stabbing death

The Ottawa Police Service is charging a 19-year-old man with second degree murder after a 47-year-old man was killed in the Overbrook area.
Officers responded to a stabbing in the Whitton Crescent and Whitton Place area on Sunday around 2:40 a.m.
Steven Butler was found, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
One other man was also discovered suffering from serious stab wounds and taken to hospital.
Officers arrested several individuals in the area of the incident.
Investigators have since charged Nick Vanasse, of Ottawa, with second degree murder.
Braelen Stevens, 19, Shawn Leblanc, 19, and Vanasse are all jointly charged with the aggravated assault of a 22-year-old man.
The investigation is ongoing and more updates are expected from Ottawa police.
