Amica Westboro Park identifies recent COVID-19 case; no new cases, deaths reported in Ottawa Tuesday

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is reporting another day of zero COVID-19 cases and zero deaths related to the virus, although it's added one institution to its outbreak report.

It's the second time there have been no new cases or deaths to report locally since June 30.

OPH says there are still two people in Ottawa hospitals fighting COVID-19 — one of which is in intensive care.

There are 47 active cases in the community.

Overall, the number of lab-confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and the local death toll since the beginning of the pandemic remain at 2,118 and 263.

The number of resolved cases in Ottawa is up to 1,808 (85.4 per cent).

Amica Westboro Park joins Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre as the only Ottawa institutions dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks. Amica was added Tuesday, but OPH says a staff member at the facility tested positive on Sunday.
