Confirmed case of COVID-19 at Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School

One person at Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School has tested positive for COVID-19.
Parents and guardians were notified Friday evening and this morning of the positive case at the school located at 437 Sydney St. in Cornwall between Fourth Street East and Fifth Street East.
“The Eastern Ontario Health Unit is working closely with the school and is actively communicating with all individuals, including students and staff who have been identified as possible close contacts through high-risk exposures,” a statement from the Upper Canada District School Board said. “The school and health unit are taking all necessary steps to prevent the further spread of the virus both in the school and in the community.”
There will be no change to the school schedule or daily operations.
It is not clear if the positive case is a student or among a member of the staff.
