Para Transpo driver tests positive for COVID-19 after operating out of Merivale garage

The City of Ottawa says a Para Transpo bus drivers has tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee last worked on December 7 and has been self-isolating since that time.
Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has advised that the key dates are the 48-hour period prior to the first day the employee showed symptoms; in this case the key dates are December 5, 6 and 7.
The employee was not working on December 5 or 6, but did operate Para Transpo bus #5662 from the Merivale garage on Monday, December 7 from 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
OC Transpo is identifying any other vehicles and facilities that may require additional cleaning over and above its enhanced cleaning process. It's also begun contacting employees who may have come into close contact with this operator during these key dates.
OPH is following up with customers, family and friends who may have been in close contact with the employee. The city is also working directly with OPH and is conducting contact tracing of individuals who have, or may have been, in close contact with this employee.
