Season wraps on NCC ‘Weekend Bikedays’ program

Traffic is returning to normal on local parkways as the National Capital Commission's 'Weekend Bikedays' program has wrapped for the season.

NCC parkways were closed to traffic every weekend from May 1 to October 11, to make space for active use like biking, walking, running or skating.

According to the NCC, a total of 730,800 people used the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, Colonel By Drive and Gatineau Park pathways during the 2021 season.

Last chance! It is the last weekend to enjoy the parkways. Come walk, cycle, run or rollerblade.
