UPDATE: Police looking for witnesses of fatal Hazeldean Road crash involving pedestrian

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) wants to hear from anyone who may have seen a pedestrian get hit by a vehicle on Hazeldean Road in Kanata.

Officers were called to the scene, nearly 500 metres east of Castlefrank Road,around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15.

Investigators say an 81-year-old man Ottawa man was crossing Hazeldean Road northbound, when he was struck by a brown 2008 Honda Civic that was travelling eastbound on Hazeldean Road.

The man was pronounced dead in hospital.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash, assisted emergency responders, or may have dashcam footage of the incident.
