Charges laid in Gatineau emergency room sexual assault

A nursing assistant at the Hull hospital is being accused of sexually assaulting someone who was under observation in the emergency room following health issues.

Gatineau police say the alleged incident happened on a night shift at the hospital in November of 2019.

An arrest was made related to this investigation in January and now charges have been laid.

Martial Yanon, 39, of Gatineau, will face one count of sexual assault in Quebec court this summer.

Police say, for the moment there is no evidence that shows the accused has claimed additional victims, however, the investigation continues.
