Ottawa police make drug trafficking arrest linked to biker gang

A 31-year-old Ottawa man is facing a number of drug-related charges after police uncovered drugs, packaging materials and Outlaw Motorcycle Gang paraphernalia.

Ottawa police officers, alongside members of the Ontario Provincial Police Biker Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant at a home in the city's east end on Friday, February 4. 

In addition to the drugs, packaging, and biker gang material, they seized scales, cell phones, and a conducted energy weapon.

Gregory Kothonen has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (seven counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (two counts)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Selling (Cannabis Act)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing (Cannabis Act) 

He was released on conditions with a court appearance scheduled at a later date.
