Woman dead in single car crash on Highway 417 near Carp Road

A woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 417 near Carp Road.
Ottawa OPP responded to the crash at about 12:50 p.m. Tuesday on the highway eastbound at Carp Road.
The initial investigation found that a pickup truck left the roadway, struck a guide rail and rolled over.
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was transported to the Ottawa Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver, a 59-year-old woman, has not been identified due to next-of-kin notifications.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 417 will be closed for several hours.
A detour has been set up and is now in effect.
OPP collision investigators will be at the scene to determine the cause of the crash, which remains under investigation.
