Registration now open for Canada Day volunteers

Canadian Heritage is looking for enthusiastic people who are interested in helping to help ensure the success of Canada Day celebrations on June 30 and July 1.
Every year, more than 500 volunteers help out with the Canada Day celebrations.
Parliament Hill and Major's Hill Park in Ottawa, and the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau will be hosting a number of events including concerts and fireworks.
There are a number of volunteer opportunities, including assisting those with special needs, distributing Canadian flags and managing crowds.
Canadian Heritage is also looking for information officers and water station assistants.

The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism said volunteers will be able to, “Enjoy the thrilling and enriching experience of being in Canada's Capital Region at this much-anticipated summer event! We need your help as we welcome people from the region and beyond to the Canada Day celebrations. Join a dynamic team of volunteers for a Canada Day that's sure to be memorable!”
Those interested in volunteering can apply on the Canadian Heritage Volunteer Centre website or call 819-956-2626. Would-be volunteers can also email PCH.benevoles-volunteer.PCH@canada.ca.
The deadline for applications is June 15.
