For the first time in its 16-year history, new Porter Airlines jets will fly out of Toronto Pearson airport in 2023, allowing travellers the opportunity to travel around Canada in style.
Porter Airlines made the announcement on Friday, Dec. 9 by introducing its new Embraer E195-E2 jet and three routes that will fly to Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal from Pearson airport.
Michael Deluce, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Porter Airlines, said that service will begin in Feb. 2023 with multiple daily, non-stop flights, increasing over time for additional flexibility.
“This investment introduces a new level of thoughtful service unmatched by any other airline in North America. It will change the way passengers think about flying economy,” Deluce said.
The first set of round-trip flights to Ottawa and Montreal will be available for purchase as of Feb. 1, starting at $225. Tickets to Vancouver will be available on Feb. 7 for $248.
Porter says its airline will offer a 132-seat, all-economy, two-by-two configuration, noting that it’s the only airline with no middle seats on every flight. The new jet is also considered the most environmentally-friendly single-aisle aircraft.
“We’re pleased to welcome Porter Airlines to Toronto Pearson,” said Janik Reigate of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
“As the demand for travel continues to increase, we are happy to have Porter Airlines join us to offer even more options for our passengers.”
