One dead, one seriously injured in Manotick collision involving pedestrians

One woman is dead and another is seriously injured after a collision involving pedestrians in Manotick.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) and the Ottawa Paramedic Service responded to the area of Bridge Street and Van Vliet Road around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, where two pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle.

Ottawa paramedics tell CityNews Ottawa both women were taken to hospital, one in life-threatening condition and one critical.

According to police, one of the women, a 61-year-old, has since died of her injuries in hospital.

The other, a 66-year-old woman, remains in serious condition.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident and have not yet spoken to police.

The intersection was closed for much of Wednesday evening, but has since reopened.
