Ottawa police to identify suspects in Centretown area assault, bike theft

The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigations Unit is asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects involved in a bike theft and assault in the Centretown West area.

On Friday, April 14, at approximately 2:45 p.m., police say two suspects entered a laneway in the area and stole an electric mountain bike.

The owner of the bike observed the incident and chased the two suspects. The owner caught up to the two men near Bronson and Gladstone Avenue but was allegedly assaulted by one of the suspects, and sustained minor injuries.

Both suspects fled the area with the bike.

Suspect 1 is described as:

  • a white male
  • approximately 25-30 years old
  • with brown hair and facial hair

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with the word “WRLD” written on it, black pants, a black bucket hat, and bright yellow running shoes with black details.

Suspect 2 is described as:

  • Black male
  • approximately 25-30 years old

He was last seen wearing a bright green shirt with a maroon/white/black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, and a maroon baseball hat (worn backward).
