The federal government has appointed a new chairperson to the National Capital Commission’s (NCC) board of directors.

As of June 6, 2023, Maryse Gaudreault will be the new chairperson for the NCC’s board of directors, serving for a four-year term.

Gaudreault was born in the Québec City region but lived in the National Capital Region for more than four decades, and served as a member of the National Assembly of Québec for the Hull riding from 2008 to 2022.

Prior to her career as a Member of the National Assembly, she was also director of the Centre d’hébergement et de soins de longue durée de Hull and served on various other boards.

“Ms. Gaudreault’s professional career demonstrates her expertise and her commitment to the well-being of communities,” said Helena Jaczek, Minister of Public Services and Procurement in a release. “Her strategic vision and experience working with various levels of government will be assets in carrying out her mandate.”

Gaudreault will replace Marc Seaman, who has served as the NCC’s chairperson since June 2017.
