The City of Clarence-Rockland is setting up two books of condolence for the public to sign, after the fatal shooting of OPP Sergeant Eric Mueller, in Bourget, on Thursday.
“The City of Clarence-Rockland is in mourning and wishes to honor the memory of Sergeant Eric Mueller,” Clarence-Rockland Mayor Mario Zanth said, in a written news release. “I invite people to come to Bourget or Rockland to offer their messages of sympathy.”
One book of condolences will be at the Bourget Community Centre, while the other will be at Clarence-Rockland City Hall. Both books will be available for residents to sign between 3 and 8 p.m., Saturday, May 13. Afterward, they’ll be donated to the OPP.
Two officers were also wounded in Thursday’s shooting. One OPP officer remains in the hospital and an OPP spokesperson told CityNews Ottawa that he was in critical but stable condition, Friday. The other wounded officer continued to recover at home.
