Highway 40 Eastbound at Côte-Vertu is closed to traffic due to a truck carrying paint that spilled its load on the road Tuesday morning.
The roadway is closed until just before Cavendish as authorities work to clean up the paint.
It’s been hours so far and it’s unclear when it will reopen.
Traffic is being detoured via the service road.
It happened just after 8 a.m. – amid morning rush hour.
The paint spread across the eastbound lanes of the highway between Cavendish and Côte-Vertu.
But made it’s way all over the roadway as vehicles drove through it.

The SQ is investigating if the paint was properly secured inside the truck.
The driver could receive a fine if it wasn’t.
