Brockville police arrest man on weapons, drug offences

Officers with the Brockville Police Service arrested a man in possession of an 18-inch-long machete and drugs over the weekend.

Brockville police said the incident took place on Nov. 4 at about 8:45 p.m. on Central Avenue in Brockville.

Police received a call regarding a suspicious person believed to be tampering with a vehicle in the area.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene for possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking.

Items seized were the machete, a quantity of methamphetamine and $435.00 in cash.

He has a future court date.
